Guest Lecturer, Hofstra University 2022

Heather is an active and passionate music educator, working primarily in the Long Island community teaching private clarinet lessons. She has more than 15 years of teaching experience working with beginners through college students. In addition to maintaining a private studio, Heather has appeared as a guest lecturer at Hofstra University, worked as a teaching artist with the Staten Island Philharmonic, and engaged early childhood learners through music discovery programs. She is an Eastern Suffolk Boces Arts-In-Education Artist/Presenter.

Heather’s approach to music education is tailored to meet each student’s needs. She believes building strong foundational skills must be met equally at all stages with expression and artistic enthusiasm, and she inspires students to challenge themselves, helping them to gain the confidence that comes with finding their own voice and making their own musical decisions.
